The complete Reddit lead gen guide for SaaS founders

Most founders treat Reddit like a broadcast channel. That is backwards.
Reddit is a listening channel first. The founders winning on Reddit are the ones who spend 80% of their time reading and 20% replying.
The Reddit lead gen mindset
People on Reddit are not waiting to be sold to. They are sharing real problems with their community. When you reply with genuine help — and your product happens to solve it — the conversion happens naturally.
Building your Reddit radar
The posts worth engaging with have three qualities:
- Specific pain — Not "I hate project management" but "I keep missing deadlines because I can't see all my tasks in one place"
- Active search — They are asking for recommendations or solutions
- Recent — Posts older than 48 hours have already received their wave of replies
The scoring approach
We built Prowlify's AI scoring system around two dimensions:
- **Pain Score (0-10):** How much is this person actually suffering?
- **Intent Score (0-10):** How likely are they to actually try or pay for a solution?
A post scoring 8+ on both is a hot lead.
